Below are some frequently asked questions to help you learn more about what to expect when you attend a counseling session.
1. Is my information safe with Stephanie?
Yes. Stephanie is legally required by HIPAA laws and her license to maintain confidentiality. However, Stephanie is also legally obligated to notify Child Protective Services if she suspects any type of child abuse. Stephanie is also legally obligated to notify emergency services if you are an immediate threat to yourself and/or others.
2. What insurance does Stephanie accept?
Stephanie currently accepts Highmark, United Healthcare, Aetna, UPMC, Cigna, and TriCare insurance. In the future, Stephanie plans to accept a variety of insurances. Stephanie also has a self-pay option if you do not have insurance or wish to not utilize it for sessions. Please check back to see if any additional insurances have been added.
3. Is counseling for me?
Yes. Counseling is for everyone.
4. How can Stephanie help me?
Stephanie assists you in managing mental health symptoms by helping you create and reach realistic goals that lead to consistent changes in your life.
5. What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring cash, credit card, or check.
6. How often will I need to be seen?
This will depend on the client. Some clients may need to be seen weekly, while others may only need to be seen biweekly or monthly. This can also change throughout your time working with Stephanie.
7. What if I have to cancel an appointment?
Please call at least 24 hours before your appointment.
8. How long will an appointment be?
Appointments will typically last one hour.
